Jimmy Beard
President Jimmy Beard has over 45+ years of experience in managing construction projects under both construction management and design/build general contracting formats. His work has included diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goal setting and management for public and private construction projects and has increased opportunities for minority and women owned businesses. Jimmy has provided construction management services on major projects with Indianapolis Public Schools, Marion County Health Department, Walker Theatre, and many others. In addition, he has served as the diversity manager on the Marion County Community Justice Campus, Adult Detention Center and Sheriff’s Administrative Building in Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Airport Authority, Stormwater and Deicing Infrastructure Project, and as Supplier Diversity Consultant for Metropolitan School District of Washington Township. Jimmy was the MWBE Coordinator of the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township, in addition to the MBE/WBE coordinator for the Conseco Fieldhouse construction project, among many others. |
Carl Long
Project Accounting & Tracking Manager Carl Long brings nearly 30 years of experience to J. Beard Management as an experienced accountant, ensuring organizations’ financial well-being through appropriate fiscal management. He specializes in internal control analysis, resource management, audit preparation, tax reporting, problem solving and reconciliation. Since 2001, Carl Long has been owner of CDL Accounting and Tax Services, where he has prepared hundreds of quarterly and annual tax returns for individuals, small businesses, partnerships and S-corporations. Additionally, Carl Long has served as Accountant for Department of Defense Financial and Accounting Services (DFAS) in audit support for five years. |
Olivia Beard-Magnett
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Manager Olivia has grown up working in the business with her father, Jimmy Beard, and throughout the years she has become familiar with the minority contracting community. Currently, Olivia serves as the DEI Manager, overseeing tracking, verification, and reporting of XBE participants in JBMI’s Diversity and Inclusion Management work. Olivia holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Ball State University. Her diverse experience in data collection, reporting, and analysis, project management, and marketing, allows her to effectively identify business trends, outcomes, and needs to be leveraged for positive change within minority communities. Her diverse background has led her to work successfully with stakeholders including state and federal government agencies, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations. |
